Roy Leith is the Senior Pastor of Living Hope – Belfast. He was married to Daphne in 1972 and has two daughters, Donna and Daphne and four grandchildren, Rebekah, Sophie, Benjamin and Lydia. He attended the Assemblies of God Bible College in England in the mid-70’s after which he became the Pastor of Assemblies of God church in Ballymena where he served for four years. He established the Assemblies of God church in Portrush, and was Pastor there for 11 years before becoming the Senior Pastor in Living Hope-Belfast (formerly Bethshan Tabernacle) in 1995. Under his leadership a new building has been erected in the Shankill Estate, Belfast.
He also played a major role in the establishment of the Assemblies of God Ireland and is currently the Chairman of the National Council of the Assemblies of God Ireland and Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Assemblies of God Bible College, known as Carraig Eden Theological College, based in Greystones near Dublin.
Pastor Matthew Davis joined the church in June 1998 after 3 years at the Assemblies of God Bible College in England. He became the full time church worker in September 2001 and was ordained pastor in April 2005. He is responsible for all the children’s and youth work in Living Hope Belfast and has seen the work grow from 8 children attending Sunday School in September 2001 to over 200 children and young people attending a variety of activities every week. His desire is to see young people build their lives on God. Since the charity was established as the social arm of the church in November 2001 he has been responsible for raising over £110,000 for the variety of community projects that the church is involved in to provide help and hope to those we work with. He is married to Athena and has two daughters Ruth and Abigail. As well as his family his four passions in life are Aston Villa, James Bond, Ulster Frys and dressing up in church.
Bob Shaw is on the Leadership Team at Living Hope – Belfast. He has served as an Elder since 1982, and is the longest serving Elder. He was appointed a Deacon in 1966. His great love for the Shankill area comes from the fact he was born there and is truly a “Shankill Road man. Although retired he is still active in Church life and is the Leader of one of the house groups.
Jackie McCoubrey is on the Leadership Team at Living Hope – Belfast. He has served as an Elder since 1997. He was appointed a Deacon in 1973. Born in Argyle Street he truly is a Shankill Road man. He has his own business on the Shankill “Jackie’s Quality Meats”. Jackie is the Leader of the Worship team, a family man with a great love for music.
